Our office recently formed cooperative relations with law offices that deal with import and export in the US and the EU. These offices give our clients full services for everything related to international trade law in destination countries.
***Canceling Customs Debt (1)
The Customs Authority canceled the overwhelming majority of the charges issued to a textile importer, a client of our office, and accepted the importer's stance regarding lack of sufficient factual infrastructure (lab tests) for the issuing of the charges.
***Canceling Customs Debt (2)
The Customs Authority accepted the claim of a food importer, a client of our office, according to Article 3 of the Law of Indirect Taxes and canceled charges of around 150, 000 shekel.
*** The Import Committee
The import committee recently accepted our office's application in the name of a Palestinian client and changed the penalty to a warning, without monetary sanction.
***The courts (1)
The Magistrate's Court of Tel Aviv recently gave a fundamental decision which allows the public to examine a customs case that was tried with open doors. The request was filed by our office.
***The courts (2)
The district court of Nazeret accepted the stance of our office's client, the Gamal Sarid company, in an action filed by our office, and refused the defendant, the B. Metal company's request to summarily dismiss the case, while obligating the defendant in expenses.
***Antidumping
The advisory committee accepted the stance of a client of our office, the Gamal Sarid company, and advised an antidumping duty of 118% on import of abrasives from China.
***Lectures
Adv. Gill Nadel recently lectured at two seminars arranged by the Export Institute, on the subject “Export to the US” and “Tips for Working with Customs”. The seminars earned very positive feedback.
Additionally, Adv. Nadel spoke at a convention for clients of the Ma'ayan company (customs agents and international forwarders) and in a forwarders' course by the Tel Aviv Chamber of Commerce and the Haifa Chamber of Commerce.
