*** The Customs Authority accepted the stance of our office's client, according to which the classification of mats made of plastic pipes should be under item 46.01.
*** The Commissioner for the antidumping duty in the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Employment, Mr. Reuven Pesach, rule that a temporary guarantee of 10%-31% would be placed on connectors and accessories for pipe connection from China, in continuation of the antidumping investigation opened at the request of a client of our offices and conducted under the care of our offices.
*** Two actions were filed against Customs for the return of goods that were seized under the claim of smuggling. In one of the cases, it is argued, inter alia, against the Customs Authority, that it did not meet its duty to allow the owner of the goods a fair hearing and did not explicate its decision, and that also for this reason, the seizure should be voided, in addition to other claims in this case.
