Our office represented the plastics manufacturer Nexon before the advisory committee during a discussion of a complaint against dumping import from the EU and from Turkey of nylon cling wrap.
The Customs Authority accepted the stance of a client of our offices, a pump importer and cancelled deficits issued to it of a sum of 150,000 NIS according to paragraph 3 of the Law of Indirect Taxes
The Courts
Our office filed an action in the name of a tool importer against the Customs Authority for refund of sums paid for import of drills/electric screwdrivers. The importer claimed that Customs' instruction that the drills incorporated into screwdrivers be taxed, which was eventually cancelled, had no legal basis and therefore the importer should be refunded the payments it made.
