Matters of Customs and regulations:

·    Our office is representing two large Hi-Tech companies regarding new deficit demands that deal with the classification of equipment used in manufacturing.

·    Our office has closely accompanied the project of importing the used train engine for the Be'er-Sheva municipality, including consultation on matters of tenders, international shipping and Customs issues. The train engine has recently arrived at Ashdod Port.

·    The Customs Authority has partially accepted the legal demand of one of our clients, and determined that part of the merchandise imported from Jordan will be exempt from Customs taxes.

·    The Customs Authority annulled deficits that were issued to clients of our office, importers of handbags, after accepting the stance of their classification.

Courts:

·    Clients of ours, importers of food products, will be compensated by the Ministry of Health as part of a settlement at a sum of NIS 800,000, for delays in releasing shipments as a result of the indictments that were submitted in the "Remedia" affair.

·    Our office is representing a large number of importers in class actions that were submitted against them in matters of food marking. Recently, a request for class action approval was concluded. This class action was requested against a client of our office, a leading food company and ended with the prosecutor's departure and a minimal compensation to the prosecutor and his representative.

Lectures:

·    On December 5, 2012 Attorney Gil Nadel gave a lecture during a seminar of the Export Institute, which took place in Maman at Ben Gurion Airport, on the subject of reducing damages in air transport.

·    On December 11, 2012, Attorney Gil Nadel gave a lecture to members of the Haifa Bureau of Customs Agents, on the subject of new legislations and rulings in the field of Customs and international shipping.

·    On December 24, 2012 Attorney Gil Nadel gave a lecture to members of the Haifa Bureau of Customs Agents, on the subject of new legislations and rulings in the field of Customs.

·    On December 6, 2012 and December 27, 2912, Attorney Gil Nadel gave a lecture during a seminar organized by the Export Institute for importers from the Palestinian Authority, on the subject of documentary credit.

·    On January 7, 2013 our office will host a professional seminar for members of the Corporate Organization of Customs Agents and International Forwarders, on varying subjects dealing with international trade, among them classification, evaluation, the Indirect Tax Law, sourcing rules and more.
